Grant Amounts for October 2025
The following are the updated grant amounts for October 2025:
- Old Age Grant (60–74 years): R2,315
- Old Age Grant (75 years and above): R2,335
- Disability Grant: R2,315
- War Veterans Grant: R2,335
- Care Dependency Grant: R2,315
- Child Support Grant: R560
- Foster Care Grant: R1,250
- Grant-in-Aid: R560
- Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant: R370
These adjustments reflect SASSA’s ongoing efforts to support beneficiaries amid rising living costs.
Biometric Enrolment for New Applicants
Starting from 1 September 2025, all new grant applicants are required to undergo biometric enrolment. This process includes capturing fingerprints and facial recognition data to enhance security and prevent fraudulent activities. Existing beneficiaries are not affected by this change.

To ensure a smooth grant collection process:
- Avoid Rushing: There’s no need to collect the grant immediately on the first day. Funds remain available in accounts for several days.
